Deborah E. Britton is the Chief Deputy for the Travis County Health and Human Services and Veterans Service Department.  She held the position as the Community Services Division Director since September 2001, and was responsible for oversight of programs targeting at-risk youth and families, the disabled, and elderly throughout Travis County.  Prior to her tenure with Travis County, Ms. Britton was the Youth Services Manager for the City of Austin Health and Human Services Department for over 6 years, and was responsible for a variety of youth prevention and intervention programs.

She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree, a 1996 graduate of the National Forum for Black Public Administrator’s Executive Leadership Institute (ELI), alumni of the 2003-04 Leadership Austin class, Secretary/Treasurer of the NFBPA Council of Presidents (2010-2013), member of the NFBPA ELI Alumni Association, and national Membership Committee. Ms. Britton is the Past-President (2009-2012) of the Central Texas Chapter of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators.
